Nowhere has the influence of Japan had a greater impact than in the names given to the various types of Koi. For the average English speaking person not only are we unsure how the name should be pronounced but the names themselves have no meaning whatsoever. Names like Asigi and Showa have little meaning and its hard for us westerners not only to remember the name but what are the physical characteristics of the fish under each name.
When buying pet hedgehogs, there are some important things to look for to make sure you have a healthy animal. Things to check:
Are you searching for the perfect pet? Look no further, I have the solution, it has the cute factor, is cheap to buy, is even cheaper to keep, provides lots of entertainment, doesn't take up too much space and did I mention that they are ridiculously cute? I'm talking about an African pygmy hedgehog, they literally are the perfect pet (in my completely biased opinion).
Remember how much fun it was, as a child, to dress up and believe that you were someone else? It didn't matter whether you dressed up in super villain costumes and/or super hero outfits. It is also fun to watch the antics of young children and how much they enjoy putting on new personalities.
